Patch 4.2 Rogue Changes
Lots of things will be changing in Patch 4.2 today such as rogue EP values, BiS lists, New awesome trinkets and much more. But before we start getting you all into this we’re just going to take a brief look at the Rogue mechanic changes in Patch 4.2 first of all.
Make sure you read up on the full 4.2 patch notes when you have a minute because there are quite a few other interesting little changes to make note of.
Cloak of Shadows cooldown is now 2 minutes, up from 90 seconds. In addition, Cloak of Shadows is no longer on the global cooldown.
Combat Readiness and Cloak of Shadows now share a cooldown.
Blind duration against enemy NPCs is now 1 minute, while the duration against players remains 8 seconds.
Stealth now once again begins its cooldown once the rogue leaves Stealth.
The two section highlighted in bold above are important for PVE Rogues to make a special note of. Cloak of Shadows has proven to be very useful in 4.1 especially for fights such as Heroic Valiona and Theralion. This useful little ability is now being downplayed a little by having it’s CD increased by a whole 30 seconds. I know more than a few rogues who will cry for this change. Secondly however, our Blind duration is now 1 minute meaning once Sap is broken we can “re-cc” NPC’s with blind much more effectively. Go rogue CC!
Assassin’s Resolve damage bonus has been increased to 20%, up from 15%.
Vile Poisons now increases poison damage by 12/24/36%, up from 7/14/20%.
Savage Combat now increases attack power by 3/6%, up from 2/4%.
Vitality now increases attack power by 30%, up from 25%.
Elusiveness now reduces the cooldown of Cloak of Shadows by 15/30 seconds, up from 10/20, and now also reduces the cooldown of Combat Readiness by 15/30 seconds.
Hemorrhage base damage has been increased by 40%.
Sanguinary Vein damage to bleeding targets has been increased to 8/16%, from 5/10%.
It looks like all three rogue builds have been buffed this patch so you can breathe a sigh of relief, no nerfs for us! Now remember, just keep stealthing around and the nerf bat wont catch us.
